What is the Connecticut Citizens' Assembly?
The Connecticut Citizens' Assembly is a group of 100 randomly selected residents, who will learn, deliberate, and pass recommendations on the topic of funding local public services. These recommendations will be passed directly to a legislative hearing convened by State Comptroller Sean Scanlon. How do you define the most "unifying" ideas?
Unifying ideas are those that receive broad support across people with different backgrounds and political viewpoints. We use statistical methods to identify which ideas bring people together rather than divide them.
How many times can I vote?
We encourage you to vote on lots of ideas to see what others in Connecticut want to change. Each person gets one vote per idea.
Why do you need my Zip Code?
We are asking participants to provide a Zip Code to ensure that the ideas and vote come from Connecticut residents. We don't share your contact details, like your email, with the state or Assembly.
When does voting end?
Voting ends on July 6, 2026. After this date, the most supported ideas will be presented for discussion during the Connecticut Citizens' Assembly beginning July 11, 2026.
Is Ideas for Change a project of the state of Connecticut?
No, Ideas for Change is an independent platform powered by Change.org. We are working with the organizer's of the Connecticut Citizens' Assembly to ensure that the community's best ideas are heard and considered for action.

Who can participate?
Anyone 18 or older living in Connecticut can share ideas and vote. You don't need to create an account — just visit the site and jump in.
